I walked out of my house this morning and heard a couple of jets flying not real low, but low enough and boy were they loud. It seems that these F-16 fighter jets are scheduled to make periodic passes over downtown Washington today and again in the early morning tomorrow (Wednesday, May 20, 2009) as part of a military exercise.

The two Air Force jets are taking part in an exercise run by the North American Aerospace Defense Command and are slated to fly over the area several times in the early morning hours today and tomorrow between midnight and 6 a.m. According to the military, two Cessna planes and a helicopter supposedly are also taking part in the exercise.
